Coach Sadie worked with a client who had always struggled with her weight and decided to try a popular low-carb diet that promised quick results. She diligently followed the strict guidelines, cutting out bread, pasta, and sugar from her diet. In the beginning, she saw some progress on the scale and felt motivated by the initial weight loss.
However, as time went on, she found it increasingly difficult to stick to the diet. She missed her favourite foods and felt deprived of the pleasure of eating. Cravings for carbs became overwhelming, and she eventually gave in to temptation, binging on all the foods she had been restricting.
Feeling guilty and defeated, she abandoned the diet altogether and reverted to her old eating habits. The weight she had lost quickly crept back on, leaving her feeling discouraged and frustrated. She realized that the strict diet was not sustainable for her and had only led to disappointment and setbacks.
